Review & FAQ:

Driving the scenic 40-mile Lariat Loop - National Scenic Byway will take you on a nostalgic trip back to the early pioneering days of the Age of the Motorcar. Today’s Lariat Loop combines elements of two of the earliest scenic drives in Colorado - the Lariat Trail Scenic Mountain Drive and the Bear Creek Canyon Scenic Mountain Drive (Video), both of which were actively promoted back in 1915-1920.

The Lariat Loops offers access to jaw-dropping views, thrilling sharp curves and long winding roads with regular waysides where you can stop to take photos. There are many interesting attractions to visit along the loop, including the Buffalo Bill Grave and Museum and the Red Rocks Park Amphitheater.
