Review:
Red Canyon Park is a 600-acre park within the stunning Fountain Formation, formed over 290 million years within the Ancestral Rocky Mountains. The park, which is overseen by the City of Cañon City, showcases beautiful red rock formations that have been carved into unique canyons and monoliths by erosion over the years, showing similarities to formations in the nearby Front Range and Flatirons. Visitors can explore the park's entire area on or off trail, with a parking area offered approximately a mile off Red Canyon Road. Trails lead to dramatic formations within the park such as The Arch, a natural red stone arch carved out by erosion. Visitors should note that some lands surrounding the park are private property and should pay attention to signage to avoid accidental trespassing.
