The beach at Tribune Bay Provincial Park on Hornby Island provides almost one kilometer of perfect soft white sand. Hornby Island lies off the east coast of Vancouver and is easily accessible via the ferry. Although there are no swaying palm trees, this beach is considered to bring almost all the features of a paradise island to Vancouver. The water is pleasantly warm in summer and the bay offers a huge shallow-water wading area perfect for children to frolic around in. In spring there are wonderful banks of wildflowers edging the beach, just to add to the beautiful landscape. Besides soaking up the sun visitors to Tribune Bay can enjoy swimming, canoeing and kayaking, hiking, cycling and fishing.
