The 6km crescent shaped Florencia Bay (known as Flo to the locals), is a particularly scenic beach located on the extreme west coast of Vancouver Island. The bay enjoys a spectacular backdrop of soaring cliffs and is generally a rather quiet beach where nature lovers can enjoy a little solitude. Visitors can enjoy a very scenic hike along the tree line above the beach or spend their time walking on the sandy beach and watching surfers and paddlers enjoying the waters. Fishing is also rumored to be very good. The bay is named for a ship which was wrecked off the coast of Vancouver Island and eventually washed up on this bay.
