Review:

Located on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood, the Griffith Observatory offers spectacular views of downtown L.A. and the Hollywood sign.

Exhibits in the observatory cover a huge range of space- and science-related topics, and monthly "Star Parties" give families the opportunity to learn about the sky from amateur astronomers.

A number of telescopes are available for guests to use in the evenings, including the large Zeiss telescope.

The observatory is open every day except Monday, and admission and parking are free of charge. There is a small fee for visitors wishing to watch a show in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium.
