Rocky Nook Park is a lovely 19-acre park located minutes from downtown Santa Barbara, originally donated to Santa Barbara County for use as a public park facility by Sam and Carolyn Stanwood in 1928 in honor of Frances Dabney Oliver. The park, which is a current contender for Santa Barbara County Historic Landmark status, is home to unique features such as the 1910 Oliver watering trough and the Mission Creek bridge. Stunning landscape elements include large sandstone boulders, majestic oak and sycamore trees, and areas of native vegetation. A children's playground is offered, along with day-use picnic sites offering barbecue grills.
