Campbell Historical Museum was originally opened to the public in 1964 by the Campbell Country Woman's Club and local activist Jeanette Watson. Since the 1980s, the museum has been located within the city's historic Firehouse No. 1 building. Today, it is operated by an independent nonprofit organization in conjunction with the historic Ainsley House living history museum and strives to preserve the region's social, cultural, and industrial history in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. A variety of permanent and temporary exhibits are showcased at the museum, focusing on topics such as the region's agricultural, food industry, and technology histories and its notable athletes and sports teams.
