Curracloe Beach is one of Ireland's most popular public beaches, known throughout Europe for its beautiful seven-mile beachfront stretch and pristine, soft sands. The beach, which is best known for its use as a filming site in the film Saving Private Ryan, is located approximately two kilometers from Curracloe Village and has received Blue Flag certification, making it an ideal sport for swimming and sunbathing. Three access points connected by an accessible boardwalk are offered along its beachfront stretch, which begins at Raven Point and stretches to Ballyconigar. The beach is also located adjacent to the Raven Nature Reserve, which offers opportunities for jogging, hiking, and dog-walking along its public nature trails.
