Standing tall and regal on Fifth Avenue in New York City, Temple Emanu-El is a must-visit destination for everyone interested in history, architecture and Judaism. The temple started out as a small loft meeting place for Jewish immigrants from Europe more than 175 years ago. Decades later, the group had saved up enough money to build one of the most spectacular Synagogues in the US. The Reform synagogue is built in the Romanesque Revival Style and is so impressive that it is visited by thousands of people each year. After you have visited the temple, head to Battery Park City to the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
