This impressive building has also been ranked the third best opera house in the world by National Geographic and it is renowned worldwide for its incredible acoustics. Teatro Colon underwent a major refurbishment from 2006 to 2010, and highlights of the recently remodeled opera house include seating for close to 2,500 people, a massive chandelier with 700 light bulbs, and a beautiful facade that is lit up every evening.
