The Rick Wilcox Magic Theater is much more than a venue. The Wisconsin Dells theater has it very own story to share with guests. When the illusionists Rick and Suzan Wilcox found this theater, it was still known as the old "Country Legends Theater." The building dates back to the 1980's as a teen dance club before it was converted in 1990 to a country music theater. The couple's initial visit during which they first explore the vacant theater lasted almost seven hours. They saw sheer potential, unfazed by the shambles of concession stands and broken-down seating.

There were plenty of flaws in the theater, but these natives to Wisconsin were sure that they had found the perfect venue for their show, a place to chance their life on the road to performing show nearly every night in the same location. Following several months of renovation, the Wilcox's welcomed an audience made up of local businesses for an open house, along with two debut shows. The Rick Wilcox Magic Theater open to the public in May of 1999 to an audience of almost seven hundred people for the inaugural thirty-minute magic show.

The theater today is open throughout the entire year and is ninety-minute award-winning live show, featuring comedy, grand illusions, magic, and more than three hundred special effects and light cues. The once old run-down theater has become a memorable, "must-see" attraction in Wisconsin Dells through the vision and talent of Rick and Suzan Wilcox. With new illusions each year and volunteers every night, the Rick Wilcox magic show is always fun and fresh, even for guests who have previously been to the theater.
