Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina offers traditional, deluxe or suite hotel rooms. The traditional rooms include amenities like a hair dryer, a 42 inch flat screen TV, refrigerator, coffee pot and high quality mattress, linens and cotton robes to lounge around in. The resort also offers deluxe guestrooms, which are fancier in style. They feature a fireplace, ornate headboards and cabinetry and many other luxurious pieces of furniture. The hotel also offers a few different styles of suites. These include a studio suite, the one bedroom summer suite and the two bedroom admiral suite. There are only two studio suites on the Harborside property.

Both of the suites have a king sized bed, living room area with a comfortable sofa and dining room table, as well as a large balcony that overlooks the Harbor. The suite also has the amenities found in the traditional rooms. The one bedroom summer deluxe suites include a king sized bed, living room area with ample amount of seating, a powder room and balcony overlooking the harbor. If guests are traveling with friends or family, the two bedroom admiral suite is highly recommended for larger parties. The admiral suite is rated one of the best suites on-site with two large bedrooms and two full baths, a large living room, balcony overlooking the water and a wet bar.

The new Charleston Beach club offers an additional 92 suites for Southern travelers. These suites are very modern and luxurious. They feature hand-painted furniture and artwork, high end bedding and an expansive seating area. Guests can lounge on the outside balcony and bask in the Charleston sun while enjoying an afternoon cocktail and watching the boats dock in the Harbor. Guests of the beach club, like those of the Charleston Harborside, can choose from a variety of suites as well. These include the Harbor Deluxe Guestrooms, the Garden Studio Suite and the Family Parlor Room. The Harbor Deluxe Guestrooms are gigantic and guests can choose a king sized bed or two queen sized beds. The room also features a tub and separate shower for those guests looking to soak after a long day of adventures in Charleston.

The Garden Studios are the largest single bedroom option at the Beach Club at 580 square feet in size. They include a king sized bed, beautifully decorated seating area and private balcony, like the other suites. Lastly, the Charleston Beach Club offers the Family Parlor Room to its guests. This is the largest accommodation, best suited for families and small groups. At 750 square feet, these rooms are also right on the harbor, include a king sized bed and separate bedroom with two twin beds and a seating area perfect for a fun night in with family and friends.

Romantic Features


Couples can add a romantic element to their stay by requesting a “Romance on the Water” experience. This includes a two nights’ stay, a chilled bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival or request, chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival and breakfast for two each morning at the on-site Indigo Grille. Guests can also request the Ultimate Romance experience which makes for a really intimate stay full of romantic activities.

This experience includes the amenities of the Romance on the Water experience plus a welcome drink at the Reel Bar, a half dozen roses in any color the guest likes, a sunset dinner for two, which includes the chef’s specially created menu for the occasion, as well as a private carriage tour of the historic downtown, and breakfast and mimosas in bed.

Restaurants and Bars


Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina offers a few different dining options to its guests. The Charleston Harbor Fish House is one option. It is a seafood restaurant located on Patriot’s Point and can be accessed by land or water taxi. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and offers stunning views of the Charleston skyline and USS Yorktown. The top floor is home to the Bridge Bar and is the perfect place to watch the sunset.

At the Fish House, guests can enjoy meals made with local and fresh seafood like fried calamari, chilled lobster tail or lobster ravioli for lunch and smoked salmon flatbread, shrimp scampi or filet mignon for non-seafood lovers at dinnertime. The menu is extensive and they offer salads and vegetarian plates as well. The Bridge Bar upstairs is the only open air rooftop bar in the area. It’s open seven days a week and offers an extensive list of refreshing craft cocktails and appetizers to those guests looking for an afternoon snack or late night bite to eat ocean- side. A few notable cocktails include the trade winds punch made with peach schnapps, cream of coconut and a variety of fruit juices and the Bridge Bar Margarita. Guests can order dishes like shrimp cocktail and oyster shooters here if they are feeling hungry.

The Indigo Grille is another restaurant available to guests. It’s located on the bottom floor of the hotel and is open daily for buffet style breakfast and offers a wraparound terrace for seating.

Another local bar is the Reel Bar, situated right on the water. The bar features old captain chairs from a ship that sank off the coast of Miami and a diverse collection of tackle gear and old fishing pictures adorn the bar walls to give off a nautical vibe. The bar serves up delicious cocktails and craft beer and offers bites to eat like spinach and artichoke dip served with pita bread wedges, and delicious, fresh salads like an Asian salad and surf and turf salad made with grilled steak and shrimp. They also serve many different kinds of pizza, such as Hawaiian or Greek.

Charleston Harbor Resort also offers an in-room dining service with an in-room dining menu and food delivery throughout the day and night.

Weddings, Meetings and Events


Charleston Harbor Resort is a fantastic place to get married or host a special event. The hotel has ten different venues to choose from and accommodates anywhere from fifteen to five hundred guests. The bride and groom can choose to have their ceremony on the beach, on the pier or on the dock and their reception in the yacht club, at the bridge bar, poolside on the lawn or at the lookout pavilion.

The hotel also offers private dining spaces on the Fish House Porch and in the Harbor Room. These can be reserved for weddings or special events. The Fish House Porch is 1,350 square feet in size and has climate control and large screen doors that can be opened in the warmer weather. The space can fit up to 100 people. The Harbor Room is located in the Charleston Harbor Fish House, therefore it is a semi-private dining space located off the dining room. This space accommodates up to 44 people and overlooks the USS Yorktown.

The resort is also happy to host corporate meetings and other kinds of events. With 12,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, corporations can’t go wrong. The space includes boardrooms, computer presentation, technology support and set-up, as well as a breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner options and use of the fitness center. Meetings and gatherings can be held in the Commodore Room, the Yacht Club and the Atlantic Ballroom. The on-site reception hall, banquet hall, classroom and theatre can accommodate anywhere between 100 people in the classroom to 180 in the theatre.

Charleston Harbor Resort offers many on-site amenities and activities for its guests. These include bike rentals, chartered fishing and dolphin watching tours, a fitness center and a pool and private beach. The hotel also offers sailing, surfing and stand up paddle boarding (SUP) lessons.

The hotel is also able to arrange and reserve trolley and water taxi rides to and from the downtown area as well as activities nearby, like tours of the USS Yorktown, Fort Sumter and trips to Boone Hall Plantation. Boone Hall Plantation is one of America’s oldest plantations open to the public, so visitors can see and understand what life was like on the plantation as a slave over two hundred years ago.
