Review & FAQ:
The Sandwich Glass Museum is located in Sandwich, the oldest town on Cape Cod, which was settled in 1637. In the mid 1820’s, Boston business man Deming Jarvis recognized the potential of establishing a glass company in the town. Skilled glass blowers were brought in from England, Ireland and Boston, and Sandwich became a center of glass-blowing excellence. When you visit the museum today you can admire an amazing permanent collection of glass art from the 1800’s. In addition, you can get up close to the furnaces to watch a glass blowing demonstration, which takes place each hour on the hour.
