Review:

The Puyallup Fish Hatchery covers more than 80 acres and was established in 1949, primarily to provide trout fingerlings to stock local fishing dams.

After major renovations and improvements in 2020, the hatchery now raises more than 700,000 Chinook salmon (to assists with salmon recovery) each year along with trout and Coho. Visitors are most welcome to come and take a self-guided walking tour of the picturesque property and school groups visit regularly to learn all about salmon life cycles, migration and conservation. The Salmon Homecoming event occurs on the first Saturday of October each year and includes tours, vendors, games and more.
