Washington State

Weekend Getaways from Seattle
Charming small towns throughout the area include Roslyn, the filming destination for the popular television series Northern Exposure.
Washington State offers both a bustling, hip urban scene and virtually un-touched islands, bays, mountains, and parks.
If you ask me, Washington State is where you find a bit of everything—especially if you love fun and fresh air. I’ve stood at the edge of the Pacific Northwest and just breathed it all in.
When you go, you’ll see why I always rave about the stunning seashores and those sky-high mountain peaks. If you're an outdoor lover like me, you’re going to feel right at home.
When I’m in Washington, I always feel pulled outside—it’s just that kind of place. You’ll have a blast if you love:
Hiking or climbing—because I’ve found some of the most beautiful trails in those mountains.
Beachcombing—when you wander the coast, you never know what treasures you’ll find.
Watching wildlife—I’ve seen everything from bald eagles to sea otters in Washington’s lush parks.
On rainy days (and yes, you’ll get a few!), I love heading indoors. You might want to check out:
Museums that let you dive into Washington’s cool mix of history and creativity—I always learn something new.
Historic spots where you can wander through the past—I’ve had some surprisingly moving moments there.
Markets that are full of fresh food, handmade goods, and great people-watching—you’ll probably find something you didn’t know you needed.
I’ve traveled Washington a few different ways, and every time feels right. You’ll enjoy it whether you’re:
Bringing the family—I’ve found tons of things kids (and grown-ups) love doing together.
Adventuring with friends—you’ll make memories in every mountain town or beach stop.
Going solo—some of my most peaceful moments have come while exploring Washington alone.
Whenever I visit, I pack a big itinerary—because Washington just has so much to offer. You’ll find new places to explore, regions that surprise you, and a whole lot of ways to fill your days with adventure.
