The Ursa Starlab, Helsinki is operated by the Ursa Astronomical Association, the country’s largest and oldest amateur astronomy association with more than 18,000 members throughout Finland. The primary focus of the association is to share information about astronomy and provide a comprehensive, up-to-date view of space to members, as well as the general public of all ages. The members of this organization first designed and built their portable planetarium in 1984 and have exhibited it at fairs in addition to the planetarium being used at schools throughout southern Finland. Around twenty people can be accommodated at the planetarium.
