Located in Lisbon, the Calouste Gulbenkian Planetarium is situated next to the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and the Museu de Marinha in Belém. Originally opened in 1965, the planetarium has been redesigned to feature the most modern planetarium equipment, such as a central sphere featuring thirty-two fixed star projectors. This technology enables the Calouste Gulbenkian Planetarium to present over nine thousand stars across both celestial hemispheres, nebulae, star clusters, constellations, and the Milky Way galaxy. There are also several auxiliary educational features, presentations associated with specific parts of the year, and special exhibitions designed for younger visitors at the planetarium.
