Review:

The Salzburg Cathedral is a beautifully preserved 17th century Roman Catholic church built in the baroque style. Founded in 774 by Saint Rupert, the cathedral was built on the site of an old Roman town and was later rebuilt in 1181 after being destroyed by a fire. Located in a quiet square next to the Salzburg Residenz and St.Peter’s Abbey, the cathedral has relatively simple exterior design and spectacular interiors with columns, knaves, a dome filled with detailed frescos, and a beautiful organ.
