Imlil is a lovely town located approximately an hour south of Marrakech, known as a prime jumping-off point for treks into the gorgeous High Atlas Mountains. The town is located in the shadow of majestic Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, which is one of Morocco's most popular hiking regions throughout the year. In town, charming shops and boutiques benefit the Imlil Village Association, which aims to use funds to combat ethical and socioeconomic issues of tourism in the area and promote sustainable, eco-friendly travel. A lovely hammam is open to the public for visitor use, while a kasbah rooftop cafe serves up tea and provides stunning views of the region's surrounding mountain terrain. Map
