Amizmiz is a quaint town located approximately an hour south of Marrakech's city center, located at the foothills of the stunning High Atlas Mountains. The city, which can be easily reached via taxi from Marrakech, is known for its Amazigh culture and Tamazight language, which thrives within its town center. Up into the foothills, traditional Berber villages can be explored as part of day excursions from various companies. The town is highly walkable and home to a number of delicious cafes serving up excellent traditional Moroccan cuisine, including flavorful, spicy tagine dishes. Each Tuesday, its weekly souk market sells a wide variety of goods, ranging from fresh produce and spices to clothing and jewelry. Map
