Considered one of the best restaurants in Avignon for a while now, Restaurant L'Essentiel certainly lives up to its name. Many consider the elegant establishment and essential stop for decadent dining. At the helm of the kitchen, is the young Chef Evan Neumann who has worked in Michelin-starred Plaza Athénée who turns out rich dishes such as Dos de Merlu Roti, Jus du Cuisson aux Câpres et Beurre Noisette Polenta Crémeuse (Hake Roti with Creamy Polenta and Hazelnut Butter). Housed in a stately mansion, the dining room is chic and well-appointed, and there is also a small courtyard that is open during the warmer months.
