Tequila is a town in the state of Jalisco in western Mexico. The town's major claim to fame comes from its production of the famous spirit of the same name. The popular liquor is sold around the world and one of the main ingredients is blue agave, which can be found growing in fields all around the town, especially in the area near the foot of the Tequila Volcano. Interested visitors can visit distilleries and haciendas to see the tequila making process in action. There are also several museums with exhibits related to the history and production of the drink, including the Museo Los Abuelos and the Museo Nacional del Tequila.
