The Natural History Museum of Utah is a delightful museum in Salt Lake City's University of Utah Research Park, known for its unique exhibits on the geography and natural history of the Intermountain West region.

The museum, which was opened to the public in 1969, has been housed at its current facility at the Rio Tinto Center since 2011. More than 1.6 million artifacts are showcased in permanent exhibits for visitors of all ages, including a renowned Nature Voices exhibit, which documents the history of Utah's eight recognized indigenous tribal groups. The state's three major geographic regions are highlighted in exhibits, as is the beautiful Great Salt Lake. Other exhibits explore the region's flora, fauna, climate, and weather through hands-on activities for adults and families alike.
