The Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts is a performing arts center in Amarillo’s downtown. The center is home to the Amarillo Symphony, the Amarillo Opera, and the Lone Star Ballet. The center hosts a large number of events throughout the year, including concerts, ballet performances, symphony orchestra performances, theatrical productions, and more.
The space is also used to host a variety of community and private events. The building features an impressive architectural design. The main theater is wrapped in red sandstone that brings to mind the nearby Palo Duro Canyon. The three levels include business and administrative offices, dressing areas and spaces for staging. The center can seat 1,300 observers in the main auditorium.
