The Amarillo Zoo is a 15-acre zoological park featuring a host of interesting and exotic animals. The 150 animals in the zoo come from 88 species from around the world. Some of the species are native to Texas, such as bison, tarantulas, and grey foxes. However, many more exotic animals can be seen as well, such as lions, tigers, and several species of exotic birds.

In addition to seeing the animals in the enclosures, guests can attend live animal shows, keeper chats, and animal encounters. The Amarillo Zoo features concession stands that sell a variety of typical park food as well as a Zoovenir stand that is open seasonally and sells gifts and souvenirs related to the zoo and its animals.
