Built in 1879, the Schreiner Mansion is a historic site and event center in downtown Kerrville, Texas, surrounded by a courtyard that overlooks the Peterson Plaza . The mansion was built by San Antonio Architect Alfred Giles for Charles Schreiner, Texas Ranger and Confederate States Army veteran. The six-bedroom, two-story turreted limestone building combined Romanesque Revival and Chateauesque styles. In 1895, Giles added an elaborate porch. In 1927, the Schreiner heirs donated the mansion to the Kerrville Masonic Lodge. It was sold in 1972 to a private owner. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today it serves as a historic event center and is available for special event rentals.
