Located on the Main Street in Kerrville, Texas, in the former 1950s Municipal Auditorium, Cailloux Theater opened its doors to the public on March 27, 2003 with the performance by the San Antonio Symphony. It took four years and financial support from Kathleen C. Cailloux and a number of other donors to transform the old dilapidated building into the world-class performing arts center. It is now a cultural and civic life center of Kerrville. Playhouse 2000, founded in 1998, serves as the management company for the Cailloux Theater and produces up to seven community theater productions each year in the VK Garage Theater and the Cailloux Theater.
