The name of the cabins comes from the fact that they are just five minutes away from the Visitors Center for The Big Thicket.

The location makes these cabins ideal for a weekend getaway or a romantic time.

Every cabin has air conditioning, heating, a queen-size log bed, a bunk bed, a stove, a microwave, a refrigerator, DISHTV, and a coffee pot.

There is room for four guests in each cabin. Enjoy the lake at Cabins in the Thicket, which is ideal for canoeing or catch and release fishing.

The property is not pet-friendly and does not allow hunting or firearms.

There is no smoking allowed in the cabins. The biggest nearby attraction is the Big Thicket National Preserve.

That space is perfect for auto touring, biking, backpacking, bird watching, camping, boating, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, hunting, kayaking, stargazing, trapping, swimming, wildlife viewing, nature walks, and attending interpretative programs.

There are about 40 miles of trails in the Big Thicket National Preserve as well as nine ecosystems.

Kountze is only ten minutes away from Cabins in the thicket, where you will find plenty of restaurants and stores.
