The Rio Vista Dam was badly damaged by a flood in 1998, but it has since been rebuilt and turned into a 13-acre park with artificial rapids and a deep swimming hole perfect for cooling off in the hot summer months. Tubes can be rented within the park by anyone who wants to float down the rapids, and the nearby Olympic Outdoor Center rents canoes and kayaks to those interested in journeying farther down the river. There are also plenty of amenities for visitors to use, including picnic tables, tennis courts, hiking and cycling trails, and even a city swimming pool.
