Barrio Barista
is a rustic-chic café and West Side hangout that serves creative coffee drinks and delicious breakfast and lunch fare in a relaxed atmosphere. Once a meat market run by Jose De Hoyos in the 1960s, the historic café was once transformed into a coffee shop in 2014 and has been serving regular coffee drinks and signature specialties ever since.
In addition to the standard americanos, cappuccinos, and lattes, the café celebrates the rich and diverse flavors of the city in the Abuelitas chocolate mocha and the horchata latte.
Food-wise, you can tuck into a variety of toasts, sandwiches, and freshly baked pastries, muffins, and cakes.

2. Head to Berry to Bean Coffee House after visiting the Witte Museum

Berry to Bean Coffee House is a new coffeehouse on Broadway Street that focuses on custom-roasted beans, traditional drip, cold brews, and lattes along with unique signature coffee drinks.
Located near the Witte Museum, Berry to Bean Coffee House features Colombian and Kenyan coffee blends and a selection of specialty drinks like a turmeric-infused latte, and the Beet Supreme latte, made with local Texas beetroot, clover honey, cinnamon, and strawberry.
Light bites on the food menu include seasonal pumpkin cream cheese cinnamon rolls, maple bacon, and mocha flavors, as well as a selection of vegan and sugar-free pastries.

Established in the 1930s by the Martinez family, Cafe Martinez
is a stylish, family-owned and operated Argentine café chain that has cafés around the world.
Café Martínez in San Antonio serves a variety of coffee drinks like Americanos, macchiatos, lattes, and macchiatos, along with blended frozen coffee drinks, and fresh juices, and freshly baked pastries, muffins, and other sweet treats. Signature drinks include drip coffee made with locally roasted beans from What’s Brewing?, chocolate mint cold brew, while the massive portions of German chocolate, tiramisu, and spinach with fruit cake are popular with the students from the nearby university.

4. Relax in modern setting at Estate Coffee Company

Estate Coffee Company is a modern 1,200-square-foot space on the city’s East Side with contemporary décor, a dark wood bar, and a few seats that serves craft coffee and espresso drinks in a sleek and stylish setting.
Opened in 2016 by Brian LaBarbera, the small-batch roaster and coffee shop roasts their own beans on an 11-kilo Toper machine and sells them by the bag, along with Alamo Outdoor Company t-shirts. Patrons can sip a pour-over, cortado, or macchiato while watching LaBerbera roasts the very beans they are drinking, and there is complimentary wireless in the café for digital nomads or web-surfers.

5. Check out Halcyon Southtown

Located in the Blue Star Arts Complex, Halcyon Southtown is a hip hangout, which is a coffee shop by day and a bar and elegant lounge by night.
Named for the word that describes being peaceful, carefree, untroubled, and prosperous, the Southtown café features plush forest green couches and a warm and welcoming ambiance. Patrons can relax over breakfast and lunch dishes ranging from fresh salads, sandwiches, toasts, tacos, and more with a variety of artisanal coffees and other hot drinks during the day and an array of craft beers, casual wines and creative cocktails in the evenings.
The café offers Happy Hour specials during the week and is open all day, seven days a week.
