Hickory Run State Park is a 15,990-acre park in Carbon County in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains. The park has more than 40 miles of hiking trails, includes three natural areas, miles of streams full of trout, and the fascinating Boulder Field, an area covered in large boulders. One of the most scenic trails is the Shades of Death Trail , a 2.2-mile hike that runs alongside the stream, passes by a number of dams and waterfalls, and offers spectacular views.
