Located in the southern end of the Laurel Ridge, Ohiopyle State Park is 20,500-acre rugged, natural area and the gateway to the spectacular Laurel Highlands. The heart of the park is the scenic Youghiogheny River Gorge. Hiking in the park is strenuous and challenging. The Baughman Trail is a 3.4-mile very difficult trail that starts at the visitors center in the town of Ohiopyle and gains 1,745 feet in elevation.
