McCauley Mountain Ski Area

McCauley Mountain, nestled just outside of Old Forge in the central Adirondacks, features a 633-foot vertical drop, one paddle lift, one double chairlift, two rope tows, two T-bars, and 21 trails for skiing of 3,000 to 5,000 feet. The ski area offers skiing opportunities for skiers of all skill levels, as well as the terrain expected from a “big mountain ski resort,” but without the high ticket prices or long lift lines. With snowmaking on approximately 65-percent of the ski trails, McCauley Mountain is able to provide an average of 105 days of skiing during the year.

The Enchanted Forest Water Safari is the largest water theme park in New York, consisting of over fifty different attractions and rides, including more than thirty heated water rides and a focus on family-oriented fun for guests of all ages. Offering clean family fun in Old Forge for over sixty years, the Enchanted Forest Water Safari is both a water park and amusement park, offering a barnyard, family circus show, games, shops, classic amusement rides, and kiddie rides, in addition to its numerous water rides. Next door, Calypso’s Cove offers go-karts, a zip line, miniature golf, bumper boats, and more.

View Arts Center

The View Arts Center is a multi-arts center that offers workshops for people of all ages, a variety of performances, and national art exhibitions throughout the year. Situated on Route 28 in Old Forge, New York, the View encourages the contemplative experience of viewing artwork, hosting an array of notable national art shows, such as the Central Adirondack Art Show, and showcasing both emerging and recognized artists in nearly every medium and discipline. The center is open Monday to Saturday year-round from 10:00am until 400pm, as well as on Sunday from noon until 4:00pm during the summer.

Finding My Way to Moose River Farm

The Finding My Way to Moose River Farm provides a unique experience for visitors in the Adirondack Mountains. Visitors can take a tour of the farm or choose to go a llama trekking excursion. Many of the people who make a trip to the Moose River Farm for one of the llama treks have never actually seen a llama up close and soon find themselves captivated by their long lashes and large eyes that stare and rarely seem to blink. Guests are also allowed to pet the llamas during their trip, which includes taking in gorgeous Adirondack scenery.

Town of Webb Historic Association

The Town of Webb Historic Association owns and operates the Goodsell Museum in Old Forge, New York. The Town of Webb is located in the expansive Adirondack State Park and showcases a variety of Adirondack-related and local history exhibits throughout six rooms and is home to a research library featuring an extensive collection of vintage postcards and photographs, business and genealogy records, maps, and books. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm, the museum is housed inside a historic, turn-of-the-century house and the grounds also have an ice house and barn for guests to visit.

Kurt Gardner Photography Gallery features the artwork of local Adirondack photographer Kurt Gardner, who specializes in photography capturing the natural beauty of New York’s Adirondack Mountains, from the High Peaks Region to Old Forge. The store for the gallery is situated on Main Street in town and offers visitors a chance to browse Kurt Gardner’s photographs and possibly purchase one to display in their home. Open throughout the entire year, the Kurt Gardner Photography Gallery also has a big Adirondack chair that has become a popular photo opportunity for people. It’s also decorated during the holidays.
