Outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers do not have to travel too far to access a wonderful outdoor recreational area at the Letchworth State Park near Castile, NY. The park is home to astonishing natural beauty including several impressive waterfalls along the course of the Genesee River. There are several ways to explore: you can set off on foot along a network of more than 66 miles of hiking trails, or bring your bike and hit the cycling trails. (In winter you can snow-mobile or cross-country ski). Other adventure activities include white-water rafting, hot-air ballooning, guided kayak excursions and various ranger-led activities. You really do need more than a day so bring along your tent or RV or spend a night in one of the park cabins.
