This museum was created in 1994 as a way to help celebrate the field of aviation. While somewhat small, it contains a large amount of artifacts, including uniforms, airplane models, and memorabilia. There is also a flight simulator visitors can step inside of. The North Carolina Aviation Museum houses many airplanes, including vintage models, that are often taken on flights. Some you’ll find here include the “Miracle on the Hudson” plane, the D-558-1 Skystreak, and Supersonic Flight. You’ll also find a gift shop which sells merchandise ranging from aircraft models to shirts.
