Housed in the former Felix M. Warburg House along the Museum Mile on Fifth Avenue, The Jewish Museum contains a vast collection of more than 30,000 works of art and Jewish culture and is the oldest existing Jewish museum in the world. The museum, which was the first Jewish museum in the United States, features a repository of cultural artifacts and art that was established in 1904 and focuses on art and objects of Jewish history as well as contemporary and modern art. The collection is exhibited in a permanent exhibition called Scenes from the Collection, along with multiple temporary displays and presentations throughout the year. Notable artists in the collection include Marc Chagall, Deborah Kass, James Tissot, and George Segal.
