El Museo del Barrio, often known just as El Museo, is dedicated to Caribbean and Latin American art with a collection of works from Puerto Rico and Puerto Rican artists living in New York. Located at the northern end of the Museum Mile on the Upper East Side, El Museo features an extensive collection of over 8,500 works comprising photographs and traditional art from Puerto Rico, Mexican masks, conventional and pre-Columbian artifacts, textiles from Chile, and arts and crafts from the 20th century.
