Located in the towns of Temple and Peterborough, the Miller State Park is the oldest state-run park in New Hampshire. Set on the 2,290-foot Pack Monadnock mountain, the 533-acre park was established in 1891 and named for Peterborough native and brigadier general in the US Army, James Miller. The park offers good hiking with the Wapack Trail crossing over Pack Monadnock and passing through the park, along with other activities such as cross-country skiing, backpacking, picnicking, camping, and wildlife watching.
