Review:
Half Shell Oyster House was originally opened in 2009 within downtown Gulfport's historic Keremer building, which was recovered following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and completely remodeled into a beautiful multi-level dining destination. The restaurant showcases elegant French Quarter-style decor throughout its dining space, including wrought-iron elements, decadent lighting fixtures, and stained-glass decorations. Couples can choose from a plethora of delicious Southern and Creole entree favorites, including seafood-stuffed portabella mushrooms, bourbon maple-glazed Atlantic salmon, voodoo shrimp po'boy sandwiches, and hand-battered fried Gulf shrimp platters. Fine steaks and pastas are also served up, along with creative shareable apps like fried green tomato crab cakes, hand-breaded Gulf crab claws, and smoked yellowfin tuna dip.
