Review:

Chandeleur Island Brewing Company is the work of Cain Roberds and Cammack Roberds, who developed a passion for beer in the ‘90s, which led to homebrewing as well as searching for the top craft beers. The brewery is named after the Chandeleur Islands, one of the duo’s favorite spots. The two bought a historic building within downtown Gulfport in December 2013 and turned it into their brewing company with fresh and local ingredients. This brewery specializes in their Gulf Sour Series which is rotational and seasonal. It is their take on sour beers featuring over-the-top fruity flavors, a bit of tartness, and a bit of sweet. Some that you may find on tap or in cans include Lil’ Miss Sour Tangerine Sour, Lil’ Smack, Freemason Golden Ale, Curlew’s Coconut Porter, Osiris Gulf IPA, Guava Jelly Sour Ale, and H90 Surf Side Pineapple Wheat. There are always 12 beers on tap. The taproom has 8,000 square feet in a historic building and is the perfect place for learning about and sampling handcrafted beers and to listen to music. The taproom also has games like ping pong, giant Jenga, corn hole, and darts and can accommodate special events.
