Chandeleur Island Brewing Company is the work of Cain Roberds and Cammack Roberds, who developed a passion for beer in the ‘90s, which led to homebrewing as well as searching for the top craft beers. The brewery is named after the Chandeleur Islands, one of the duo’s favorite spots. The two bought a historic building within downtown Gulfport in December 2013 and turned it into their brewing company with fresh and local ingredients. This brewery specializes in their Gulf Sour Series which is rotational and seasonal. It is their take on sour beers featuring over-the-top fruity flavors, a bit of tartness, and a bit of sweet. Some that you may find on tap or in cans include Lil’ Miss Sour Tangerine Sour, Lil’ Smack, Freemason Golden Ale, Curlew’s Coconut Porter, Osiris Gulf IPA, Guava Jelly Sour Ale, and H90 Surf Side Pineapple Wheat. There are always 12 beers on tap. The taproom has 8,000 square feet in a historic building and is the perfect place for learning about and sampling handcrafted beers and to listen to music. The taproom also has games like ping pong, giant Jenga, corn hole, and darts and can accommodate special events.

Lazy Magnolia Brewery is the oldest packaging brewery in the state of Mississippi and delivers great music in addition to delicious beer. It is also the first brewery since prohibition began in 1907. Since March 2005, they have been providing locally-brewed beer to Mississippi residents as well and have expanded to distribute their brews in retailers, bars, and restaurants throughout the south instead of just within Mississippi. Their beers are divided into groups, such as the Porch Series for easy-drinking beers with less alcohol and 14 options. The Back Porch Series has a bit more alcohol content with eight options. The Debutante Series features one-of-a-kind creations or you can get a 12-pack variety pack. Keep in mind that the brew lineup changes regularly and the brewery offers mead as well. This brewery offers three types of tours, which all include a pint glass and can also include a flight, growler, and growler coolie or you can go on a private tour. The Porch, the brewery’s taproom, also serves food. Lazy Magnolia Brewery hosts regular events, such as music and more on the First Friday of each month, Lazy Summer Days, and Eggs & Kegs for their weekly Saturday brunches in addition to other one-time and regular events.
