The city of Flora is a small community located just north of Jackson. In Flora, a relaxed small town ambience will charm visitors as they browse its quaint shops. Flora is best known as the home of a petrified forest, an ancient place that contains fossilized wood over 36 million years old. A long, shady paved trail will lead visitors through the forest to the Earth Science Museum. In the museum, guests can try and find some real gems amongst the "mine muck."
