While birdwatching many not be everyone’s cup of tea, Frontenac State Park in Minnesota is one of the country’s best spots for viewing numerous migratory birds during the spring and fall seasons. Located along the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin along the Mississippi River, the park is home to the Wildlife Observation Blind, which is like a treehouse. The campground itself offers great views, situated upon the edge of a bluff, approximately 430 feet up from the river below. The picnic area overlooking Lake Pepin also serves as the trailhead for several hiking paths that traverse Frontenac State Park.
