Located between the Boston Harbor and Rose Kennedy Greenway, the 4.5-acre Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park is one of the earliest modern era waterfront parks in America. A life-size statue of Christopher Columbus made from white marble is the centerpiece of this urban green space. The statue was made by Norwood Monumental Works, but designed for Andrew Mazzola. Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park’s recreation area includes extensive lawns for taking in the harbor views or picnicking, walking paths, and benches. There is also a playground and sprinklers for children. The park also occasionally hosts movie nights, concerts, art exhibits, and more.
