Review:

Located at the north end of a three-mile stretch of beach and anchoring Pleasure Bay Beach, Castle Island is a destination for both recreation and history. Overlooking the islands of Boston Harbor, visitors can take a walk around or tour Fort Independence and take in the beautiful surrounding views. Swimming and sunbathing at one of the beaches nearby after touring the fort are popular summer activities. Please Bay Beach, which was designed as a marine park in the 1800’s by Frederick Law Olmstead, is a particularly popular option. Facilities at Castle Island beaches include a playground, restrooms, and picnic areas.
