Located on Pirate’s Alley in the heart of New Orleans’ beautiful and historic French Quarter, Faulkner House Books is a bookshop selling classic and local interest books and a sanctuary for fine literature and rare editions. Once the former home of William Faulkner and now owned and operated by attorney Joseph J. DeSalvo Jr., the bookshop was established 15 years ago on William Faulkner’s birthday and has been serving both locals and visitors from New Orleans and the surrounding area ever since. In addition to selling books by William Faulkner, the store also sells New Orleans and Louisiana-related titles, Johnsoniana, Southern Americana, and titles by Tennessee Williams and Walker Percy. The full-service new and used bookstore also sells artisan jewelry from Accessory Artists, bongs and water pipes, and toys from Town Square and the staff at the shop are knowledgeable, helpful, and hospitable.
