Opened in 1996 with a generous donation from Ross and Marianna Beach of Hays, Kansas, The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art presents an in-depth profile of art in contemporary Kansas, while also bringing artists and art from all over the world to Manhattan. The building that houses the museum is located on the campus of Kansas State University and was designed by Arthur Andersson of Moore/Andersson Architects in the postmodern style. It has five galleries, two rooms for storing art, an auditorium, offices, classroom, and workspaces. The art collection now has more than 10,000 pieces of art that rotate on display in the gallery.
