The Nora archaeological area is on a peninsula on the southern coast, near Pula, an 8th century Phoenician settlement.

The ruins are part of the Patroni open air museum and the theater is used for concerts in summer. More than 3000 years of Phoenician, Carthaginian and Roman influences have been detected.

There are remains of Roman thermal baths, a temple, a necropolis, an aquaduct and a nobleman's home. Roman roads can be viewed by snorkeling off shore. A great deal of the land belongs to the military and has not been excavated.
