The Battle of Corydon was an American Civil War engagement which took place close to Corydon in 1863. The battlefield is one of only two Civil War battlefields located on northern soil, the other being the site of the Battle of Gettysburg. The battlefield site covers an area of about five acres, including a log cabin which is representative of the kind of dwelling one would expect to have found on site during the Civil War Era. There is also a short trail through the woods and interpretive staff are on duty to show you around on weekends. In July each year a re-enactment of the battle takes place.
