Located on the shores of the Missouri River just above Fort Randall Dam, North Point State Recreation Area is a state park and natural sanctuary that is famous for being visited by the Lewis and Clark expedition in 1804.

The beautiful park offers an array of outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, camping, boating, canoeing and kayaking, photography, and fishing. Facilities include barbecue grills, a marina with boat ramps, comfort and dump stations, equipment rentals, restrooms with showers and toiletries, and drinking water. North Point Recreation Area has several campgrounds with sites for tents, vans, trailers, and RVs with picnic tables, fire rings, restrooms with hot showers and flushing toilets and potable water.
